Sketches Reveal New & Unseen Stunts for ABC's Wipeout

I don't know about you, but WIPEOUT is my new favorite TV show (not that there's much to watch during the Summer...I'll be happy when the fall tv lineup starts and The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Heroes come back). I tune in every week to see people get annihilated by the Spinner or go flying off the Big Balls.

It looks like the Dizzy Dummy was supposed to be surrounded in mud...maybe that was too hard.

I don't know if the animator just hadn't added the obstacles yet or if the idea was to get contestants dizzy, then make them swim through mud to the end. I wonder how Michael Phelps would do at that.

Is that person clapping?

The stick figure stuck in the mud is my favorite

I really hope that this barrel variation makes it to the show.

Making people swing into walls never gets old.

What a wipeout should look like:

Dodgeballs = Awesome.

This reminds me of "Log Droppers" from MXC

Every time I watch, I really want to go down this slide.

Proof of what we all suspected: They got the barrel-ramp from Donkey Kong (anyone else want to see them implementing ideas from Halo?)

How did he get so high up like that? Wipeout season two: Jetpacks?

Dizzy Dummy makes you dizzy.

Early sketch of the "Slippery Stairs" -- I'm starting to think the original name of this show was "Lets make people fall in mud then laugh at them"

Sacks are way better than the Toothbrush Sweeper!

Oh how I want to see the swinging wall obstacle!

Pull him down, pull him down!

I am convinced that parkour skills would create a huge advantage on Wipeout

I love that they took the time to draw in a guy getting punched in the face.

To quote Ariel Tweto "Where's the Pole?!? Where's the Pole?!?" <-- If you haven't seen that, you must watch it now.

Contestant rides giant clock?

My theory is that the "Fat Man Course" is being saved for Season Two

They make it look so easy...in real life it's more like, make it halfway, take a few hops to build up height, then fall of back of trampoline because you're not paying attention.

This looks like a level I played on Super Mario World once.

I like his pose...I think it's Superman about to take off.

If you haven't watched Wipeout yet, you need to tune in to ABC Monday nights at 8:00 (or watch online now).

Sketches from ABC.com's Wipeout Site (but in annoying slideshow format).
